The 2021 edition of the Air Jordan 11 Retro ‘Cool Grey’ brings back a colorway first released in 2001 and retroed again in 2010. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original launch, the mid-top build is faithful to the original, featuring a nubuck upper with tonal webbing lace loops and a shiny patent leather overlay, all rendered in tones of Medium and Cool Grey. A white Jumpman logo is embroidered on the lateral ankle, while a stylized ‘23’ decorates the heel notch. Lightweight cushioning is provided by a full-length Air-sole unit housed within a white Phylon midsole. Underfoot, a translucent outsole reveals a carbon fiber spring plate for enhanced on-court responsiveness.
The Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey 2021” is the third-ever release of the popular, non-original colorway of Michael Jordan’s retro basketball shoe that originally debuted in 2001. The “Cool Grey” colorway of the Air Jordan 11 is considered one of the most storied and influential Air Jordan shoes ever, despite the fact that it’s not an original colorway of the silhouette. First released back in March 2001, the “Cool Grey” was later worn by Michael with the Washington Wizards. The colorway was brought back in December 2010, and again for this edition on the shoe’s 20th anniversary in December 2021.
